We are not a law firm

One Path Finder LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation. Using this website or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Immigration document preparation services are offered only where permitted by law.

What we do, and what we do not do

For immigration forms, our service is clerical. Our form-filling software asks you each question printed on the official form you have chosen, in the order of the form, and places your answers on the official PDF. Its help text comes from the official instructions, and it skips a question only where the form itself says to. We also help you gather, copy and organize documents using the official instructions. You give every answer, you review and sign every form, and you are responsible for its contents. The software is not a substitute for advice from an attorney.

We do not and cannot:

• choose which form, category or benefit you should apply for, or tell you what your options are;
• suggest answers, or change an answer you gave us;
• tell you how to answer a question on a form, or what to say to an officer;
• tell you whether you qualify, or predict the result of your case;
• represent you, or speak for you, before USCIS, an immigration court, the IRS or any other agency in a legal matter.

Only a licensed attorney or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice can give you immigration legal advice.

We are not “notarios”

One Path Finder does not offer services as a “notario público”. In the United States, a notary public is not a lawyer and may not give immigration or other legal advice.

Attorney referrals

If you ask us to, we will pass your name and contact details to our partner law firm so that an attorney or a member of its staff can contact you about a consultation. The law firm is a separate business. Any legal advice, legal fees and attorney-client relationship are between you and the law firm, and the firm decides whether it can take your case. One Path Finder does not supervise the firm’s legal work and is not responsible for its advice. You are free to choose any other attorney or accredited representative. How we are paid: the law firm pays One Path Finder a fixed fee for each contact request we pass on to it. The fee is the same whether or not you hire the firm, and you pay nothing for the referral. We do not recommend or vouch for any lawyer, and you are free to choose any attorney or accredited representative.

Not affiliated with the government

One Path Finder is not affiliated with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Internal Revenue Service, or any other government agency. Official forms and instructions are available free of charge from uscis.gov/forms.

General information only

Our articles and free tools give general information for everyone, not advice about your situation. Tool results are estimates based only on what you enter. Information on this website is general and may change. It is not a substitute for advice about your specific situation. For legal questions about your case, consult a licensed attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee any outcome, approval, refund, or processing time. Decisions on applications and tax filings are made by the relevant government agency.

No warranty

Rules, fees and processing times change often, and we cannot promise that every page is complete, current or free of errors. Always check the official source linked on each page before you act.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Path Finder LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or its free tools, including a missed deadline, a rejected or denied application, or a tax penalty. If we are found liable for anything related to a paid service, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of New Jersey.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Your responsibility
