How fast is my category moving?
Pick your green card category and country to see how its Final Action Date has moved over the past three years. Add your priority date to see where you stand today.
Past movement only. Not a prediction, and not legal advice. Cutoff dates can move forward, stand still, or move backward without notice, and no one can say when a date will become current. Confirm your category, country and priority date with a licensed immigration attorney or DOJ-accredited representative.

How to read this
- Final Action Date. A visa can be approved when your priority date is earlier than this date. Current (C) means everyone in the category qualifies. Unavailable (U) means no visas that month.
- 1, 2 and 3 years. Each is counted back from the newest bulletin to the same month one, two and three years earlier. The average per year is shown when both ends are dates.
- Green, red, blue. Green means the date moved forward, red means it moved backward (retrogressed), and blue means it stayed the same.
- The chart. The chart covers the last three years, one dot per monthly bulletin, split into three one-year stretches. The number at the top of each stretch is how far the date moved that year. The grey dashed line shows what one year of movement per calendar year would look like, so you can see whether the date kept up. Dashed colored lines cross months we do not have. The month-by-month numbers are under the chart.
- Why movement is not a forecast. A fast year says little about the next one. Yearly visa limits, demand and State Department decisions all change, and dates often reset in October, when the government’s fiscal year starts.
- This uses Final Action Dates only. The Dates for Filing chart and the chart USCIS accepts each month are different. Use the priority date checker for those.
